CTV needs lots of moolla to start broadcasting again

The beleaguered community TV station, Cape Town TV (CTV) that I was first to report has shut down due to money trouble , needs at least R550 000 from government to clear their debt and start broadcasting again.

CTV's operational expenses is about R5 million a year and the TV station is unable to pay it's transmission costs to Sentech for the transmitter that it uses. CTV has a permanent staff of 16 people and 10 volunteers.
